Soak up everything you can possibly learn, and then some. If an idea or concept or a maybe even a whole subject seems to be total nonsense today, take it and tuck it somewhere in the back of your mind anyway as you might have use for it someday. He constantly reminded us never to just memorize material but to take the extra time to learn it through and through. Remember that whatever you learn over the next 4 years (and they'll seem to fly by) has to serve you for at least 40 more years. He also told us not to have a job outside of school because school is a full time job in itself. Anyone who has been through four or more legitimate years of college should at least be able to spell and capitalize.
